Social networks of Bus.Trainers:
The aim of the Bus.Trainers Project is to increase competitiveness in the construction industry, through promotion of energy efficiency skills (EE) and renewable energy systems (RES) in the professorship of Vocational Training (VT), so that the trainers can then, transfer new competences to workers and future employees of the industry.
VT trainers play a crucial role in the transfer of knowledge to current and future workers in the sector. On the basis of European tendencies, skills development of VT trainers in energy efficiency and renewable energies is the necessary progress to address the weak link between education and innovation in EE and RES in the sector.
By creating a network through the Bus.Trainers Project, the main sectorial organizations from countries from the south of the European Union and apprenticeship providers in VT would start an alliance that would back firmly this new competences, which are expected to involve gradually other interested actors.
Overall objective and specific lines
The overall objective of the Project is to develop in conjunction an extensive training system for professional trainers in order to improve the training in sustainable construction, through interconnected activities.
An endorsement of a new European standard of sectoral qualification will be sought, the Green VET Trainer in construction, following the methodology of the European Qualifications Framework -EQF-, oriented to learning outcomes and backed up by the European Credit System for Vocational Education and Training -ECVET- principles and by the European Quality Assurance community in Vocational Training (the European Quality Assurance in Vocational Education and Training -Equavet-).
Additionally, a certification of competences would be validated through the Green Tag accreditation, given by specify learning experience through a BusTrainers or through a previous learning, and a memorandum of understanding or a multilateral agreement to promote the mutual recognition in several EU Member States.
During the project, a collaborative platform will be created to construct a community and to support trainers during their continuing professional development (lifelong learning), through an opening and innovative training course with new technologies for computers and mobile devices (app), which would be available in five languages, and which would have other services and professional orientation tools, teaching repositories, tutorials, etc.
The Project would have a positive impact in VT education providers, which will improve its broad portfolio of training; in FP trainees and workers, who would receive updated knowledge about EE and RES competences; in the enterprises, which would have qualified and competitive workers; and in the rest of the industry and the end user – the citizen – who would recognize the added value of the company between sectoral actors and industry, in the design and the implementation of efficient programs.
